My dear followers, I really must beg forgiveness for being AWOL for so long.

I have had a real battle for the health of my ample body for most of the last couple of years. The last kite festival I helped produce and attend was in April 2019 with the Heritage District in Rockport. That was the last time i flew a kite!!! Shortly thereafter I began a journey that was needed but certainly not enjoyed!! Suffice it to say many hospitals stays, rehab periods, and a battle royale with cellulitis, kidney disease, diabetes, and obesity, just as a recap. This has all culminated with a gastric sleeve procedure last week and a total rethinking of dietary lifestyle.

There have been many wins along the way, namely; no longer on dialysis treatments, and Kidneys have improved dramatically. Regular monitoring and bloodwork keep me headed forward. Weight loss had been a tough nut to crack, but with the sleeve done it will enhance the possibilities drastically, even to the point of eliminating diabetes from my list of ailments. I have won the war with lymphedema and the “weeping” on the lower extremities with therapy and medical devices/habits as my tool kit.

I have the support and prayers of many dear friends and family to be thankful for.
Looking forward, I will be strengthening my emaciated legs, and gaining back the ability to walk, and stand. Three years in a wheelchair is really long enough!! I have a wonderfully constructed and modified mountain bike that needs dusting off and ridden so badly…… And plans to get mobilized to be able to practice my “other hobby” digital photography.

Will soon be out in the grass with a Revolution in my hand, wind at my back, and a rich feeling in my soul!! Yall know that feeling right??
