FLOWER POWER BANNER

Recently a good friend was at a kite fly on North Padre Island and saw a banner i made for some mutual kite nuts.  There ensued a conversation on the network later that week and she asked if i could build her a banner of her own design.  I put together a quick thought i had sketched, emailed her a copy, and she replied with her own sketch expressing her vision precisely.

After a brief phone call we were on the same page about design, size, costs, etc. and I was given “artistic license” to run with it.   Then the process begins, do i have the right material colors, enough stock to make it, what color combos will work, etc.   This gets filed away in the brain banks and the real work starts, firstly with the pencils and sharpie markers, making a pattern from paper or card stock.

Then the hot cutting, tacking, stitching together each of the individual elements into an “assembly” which eventually gets put together and a pole pocket added.

Voila! We have a feather banner ready for the beach or park.
