Basically that’s all it is, bits and pieces, carefully orchestrated and put together forming a design that makes everyone look at it. That’s art isn’t it?? I
It all begins with an idea or mental image, the creation of a feather banner. Then the “paper” part, making a pattern for the letters, graphics, images or design elements of the “image” you see in your head. Once the patterns are cut and sometimes placed in what I call layout then the cutting of the nylon materials begins.
In this design we are using some “tie dye” materials supplied by our client, they are only colored on one side so each design letter has to be cut twice. then we layout and tack the message to the base cloth of the banner.
Hey now this is starting to take shape, these letters really pop on that black base.. The real work now begins, the whole applique process that’s time consuming and tedious, so we’ll skip all that and jump to more interesting things
A “graphics” element to be added to the design, this guy was a hoot to come up with, the sunglasses are on the clients logo for the company and so I thought it behooving to add that little feature to the feather design.. We wil hope to get a
picture of this finished product when the client gets it and “airs it out” We will post it on our Facebook page — Nylon Designs by Dano
Here is a small “bit” that is going into another design, bet you cant guess what this client is after??? Hint:—- they are getting hard to find in the stores!!! Here is also the dilemma, some may see this item as an offensive piece, others as a historic emblem. Do you go ahead and make it?? Well, I feel this way–if you find it offensive, suck it up!!! I see lots of things that offend me every day, but yet “PC” dictates that I am to sit idly by and say nothing about it to those “offenders”, so the street runs two ways folks!!
See ya’ll next time!!
