I have never built a Bol before, though I did “help” another person at a make and take workshop a couple of years ago. So now we are learning a new skilll set. Actually the same principles apply mostly, just the item will be different when completed. I mean cutting and sewing nylon is what I do, only the colors and the shapes change essentially.

The first step is like any other sewing project, pattern making. Then out comes the blue tape and hot knife. Taping the borders for seams is helpful and adds strength, albeit somewhat time consuming.
Then each element is hemmed, and joined to the “other” color, tow points added, one down, only eleven more to go….
These are ready for the final assembly process.
The trailing edges look like this when each element is hemmed and assembled.
I jumped the gun posting this, have a few more hours stitching to get done before finally being finished. Will post update and final pics very soon.
Here’s the final results, sent to me from a pleased kite flier.
